Well hello, September

Can't believe school's over! Internship is starting this month.. And I can't wait :)
Hopefully the pay is enough for me to get a new laptop by then. Because the one I'm using is really slow and hangs from time to time. Can't even do anything on it :(

But before that, tomorrow I'd be going back to Ipoh to visit my relatives with Mummy and my Baby! :)

Can't wait :)

Just wanna update on some overdue events. Every tuesday was both of our OFF day, so we went out on a date!

Wearing my new romper that I bought online! But I forgot which blogshop x_x hehe.

Whee super happy :)

We look so compatible here huh... Even in real life also. Heheh so compatible we look like a married couple HAHA.

These few days I've been actually googling up good food in Singapore using hungrygowhere. I think the reviews there are rather reliable. Also, I've been following ladyironchef on Instagram so he's been recommending places like Chin Mee Chin Confectionery at East Coast Road.

Decided to go there for our brunch!
It's a typical old kopi shophouse along the stretch of shophouses at East Coast Road. The people working there (Owners, I assume) were quite old and it looked like the original Old Town back in Ipoh Perak which I always frequent when I was young! (It's not the modernized Old Town, but really the OLD & Original Oldtown)

Thought the food is nice.. We ordered out 2 chiffon cupcakes, 2 eggtarts, 2 kaya buns, 2 soft boiled eggs and 2 drinks. And it totaled up to $9.90! I was so damn shocked. Hello? The portions were actually quite miserable and it wasn't even filling.

This was the eggtart. I had to admit that the eggtart was good. I'm not a big fan of eggtarts (in fact, I hate them) but this really made me changed my mind.

The chiffon cupcake we ate was just okay.. It was quite dry and didn't taste that good though.
We ordered the soft boiled eggs and they were actually 3/4 cooked already. So it was more like eating hard boiled eggs?

We also ordered the kaya bun. I saw the review somewhere when somebody commented it's the only shop they knew that has kaya bun, not the usual kaya toast. Like seriously?

I think they have been living under a rock all this while.

Reviews online were quite favourable, but in my opinion, they were SO ordinary. I think the kaya bun at City Plaza is so much better though. The one I had at Chin Mee Chin Confectionery was quite cold, soggy and the portion is indeed miserable.

The bun was cold that the butter didn't even melt at all.. It's supposed to melt to complement the kaya.

Dear didn't like the coffee very much though. He said that Killiney's coffee was much better than this and my milo was super diluted.

I doubt we will be coming here anymore.. Even though it has many good reviews but I don't trust Singaporeans' tastebuds. Seriously wtf. As I have mentioned in my previous post, the "top rated" KL hokkien mee in Singapore was so soggy and I can't believe all the good reviews about it.

It's time to trust my own tastebud!
Anyway, to make up for our miserable brunch, we went to Chong Qing at Liang Seah Street for dinner! Super happy :) It's been quite long since Dear and I went there. We met up with my mummy since she was also at Bugis.

It's a Sichuan restaurant and they are famous for their fishes!!!!!
We ordered their Seabass with Fragrant Spicy sauce with potato and enoki mushrooms, with a sidedish of Sweet & Sour eggplant.

It's the ENTIRE fish and it's only $28 for such a yummy feast! It's actually big enough for 4 people to share :)

It was Dear who actually recommended this place to me. It's seriously good!

Even Mummy said that the fish was yummy too! Now by just blogging about it, I'm also hungry... x_x

Yesterday, met up with my two lovely pals, Yanying and Jeslyn to catch up with one another! YY and I met up at Oldtown at Cineleisure first to have our dinner while waitng for Jeslyn to end her work at Sentosa.

Don't have much pictures from yesterday in my camera.

YY and me! :)

Bought my transparent Iphone cover at Cine and it's only $2!!!!!!!! YY bought her iphone sticker (front and back) and it's also only $2! Mad cheap can!

Met Jeslyn at a super late timing so we went to CentrePoint's Macdonalds to chill out and chat about her kinky adventures at Seychelles. Haha! Super funny and entertaining!

After that, all of us went home while Dear came to pick me up :)

Love spending time with people I love!!!!! (:

Been spending these few weeks with my bf..

Saturday, August 18, 2012

Tuesday was our 9th month anniversary, but this month we were pretty broke so had to maintain a low cost date but nevertheless, it was the company that matters most. :)

Dear and I went to the cosiest place in Pasir Ris, Buddy Hoagies. It's a cafe that I've been patronising ever since it's opened, especially during my secondary school days with my good friends. And everything seem to remain the same, except for the creatively designed menu.

It was a weekday, so we had Buddy Hoagies lunch set which is just $8.90 for the soup, main course, and an iced tea!

Dear ordered pan fried fish while I ordered BBQ chicken.

Pan fried fish, with onion rings and macaroni and cheese!

BBQ Chicken, cauliflower and cheese, french fries!

Had a satisfying meal since we were so FULL. Dear found the food just okay, but I thought it was quite good.. Maybe it's because I've been eating there for so long, hahhaa.

Anyway, we took neoprints that day -_- Felt so ah lian wtf but don't question me why the idea kinda popped up in my head.. Maybe it's because I never took neoprints with my bf before? Hahah

On Thursday, some of us 2m05 girlies decided to meet up for a quick lunch @ Lena's at Tampines 1 to catch up with one another! Miss them so much :'(

Miss the old days when I get to see them.. and we'd laugh in class, hahaha.
The set lunch is quite cheap hehehe.

Beef Bolognese with red wine added! It's rather yummy :)

After lunch, it was about time I had to work and Lydia had to go driving so we all took a photo! Hehe ^^

Yesterday was the last day of semester 1 and WAS SUPER HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally Semester 3.1 is over and it's time to anticipate my Ipoh Trip with baby and mummy!

Went to find baby awhile ^_^ He was quite busy so he left shortly after we met up :( But thankfully that night I went to meet up with him again!

Always the happiest to see him :')

Waited for Xinyi for 2hours!!!!!! Hahhaha and finally she finished school and we went to shop for some school clothes for her, and I got myself a pair of flats which I am so in love with :)

After that went back to Dhoby Ghaut and find baby and he haven't ate dinner so we went to Kong Kee to eat our long awaited KL Hokkien mee.. just wondering if it's the same we ate at KL?

Along Geylang.. where all the great food are hidden here

Ordered the highly raved food - their KL Hokkien mee.

Wow.. Looking good! We ordered the $10 which is the medium portion

Yum yum Snapshot 1

Yum yum snapshot 2!

Can't wait to dig in...... we were craving for this like forever!

Myself ^_^ excited to dig in!

The Verdict: Our rating was about 6/10.
Not bragging but my maternal relatives are all chefs, yes even all my aunts know how to whip up decent meals, and the Dai Lok Mee (another name for KL Hokkien Mee) they cooked are seriously the best. Rich in flavour with a bit of prawn taste. However at Kong Kee, I felt that the noodle was seriously quite sticky? The taste was a little bland and just eating a few more bites it got a bit "gao wei." My dear, despite him being so hungry didn't even finish the plate of noodle :/

So what is the reviews all about? Singaporeans.. They seriously don't know what the real deal is. I doubt I will be coming back for their KL Hokkien Mee the next time, but I do wanna try their huge grouper.. Looks super tempting!

Today, dear had work at 4pm, and I had nothing on so we went for brunch at Changi Village at Chockfull of Beans.. Initially we wanted to go 126 @ East Coast Park (his previous workplace) but we ended up going CV since it's nearer to my home. I was a little reluctant to go CV cos they don't have parks to walk after a meal and beaches and pretty trees :(

But maybe it's a blessing in disguise cos the food at Chockfull of Beans at CV is seriously good!

Chockfull of Beans is this cafe at Changi Village, beside Chocolate Origins and they have really pretty latte art! They can do angry birds, puppy faces and many more. Heheh. They have NO GST nor Service charge!

Dear saw his ex colleague working as a barista there too.. And he was originally from One Caramel so I assume the desserts should be good? :P hahah.

Baby :)

We ordered.........:
From Left: Cappuccino with a bear latte art! (Melts) and my Gryphon Earl Grey Tea served in my favourite tea pot :)

Next up, our brunch!
Portobello Mushroom with Poached Egg topped with Parsley. ($11)
This combination was like HEAVENLY and out of the world! When dear said we ate half half and exchanged, I was abit hesitant cos I love the mushroom!!!!! Hehehe.

Dear ordered the top: Cubano Sandwich. ($12)
It was seriously AWESOME with the pickles but I don't know what the meat was.. But you guys can go try it there.

Super satisfied!

And you know what they say, when you eat something GOOD to kickstart the day, the day will go well for you! Apparently I believe it's true because it made my mood so good the entire day that I feel like I'm living in a fairytale or something.

Anyway my colleague was telling me to be a food blogger or something.. To try out new places people don't really know about and afterwards share all the hidden gems with everyone. I think my blog don't have such a high readership to do something like that though :(

Am looking forward to next week, it's dear and his colleagues' BBQ, meetup with Jiawen and passing her her personalised farewell gift.. and just working. :)

So weird not to have school anymore. But that is surely a good thing. YAY!

Last day of exams!

Friday, June 08, 2012

Finally my most dreaded shit - exams are finally over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And of course, what best way to celebrate the last day would be.... MEETING UP WITH MY GOOD FRIENDS!!!!!!!

Met up with Jiawen FINALLY, cos we've been delaying this meetup for really long..
We went to Blackbird Cafe to eat since she likes the name of it, cos it reminds of her the Beatles's song. Hahaha and I go there because my boyfriend is there... Heheheh

 Mushroom Risotto

We ordered Mushroom Risotto ($16) and okay even though my boyfriend is a chef there.. The mushroom risotto DOES taste nice, really good cos it has a rich flavour and the texture is just fine. But after we eat too much, we started to get a little sick of it, haha!

Hehe, after that we went to Daiso and shopped around and after that, went to meet Ken cos he was driving me to Circular Road to meet the girls!

We settled at a pub, ordered a Tower, sang karaoke and he got to know them better :)

Well anyway, it was getting late and since tmr he had to work the morning shift, he left first so we girls just chilled on our own.

And on Thursdays nights, entry to Zirca are free for tertiary students!
So we just went in to get free drinks, danced a little, and after awhile we went out :(

But it was still awesome fun! Had a lot of fun with the girls!!!!

Hehe, so yup......
Am flying to KL tonight! Am so excited!!!!

Will be back with more photos of my trip soon ;)

Good food and company to kickstart April!

Thursday, April 05, 2012

First of April: April Fools Day: News circulated around the web that TP was going to enforce a dress code for students, scaring the wits out of every TP student. Even the news got stomped twice!

Turns out that it's just a April Fools prank..... :-)
I wasn't even aware of it until TP was trending on Twitter? Haha.

Oh well, I couldn't care less if we're going to wear uniform anyway. In fact, I wouldn't mind! Since going to polytechnic means you gotta spend so much money on buying clothes and getting headaches in the morning deciding what to wear each day.

Anyway started off the first day of April pretty well!
Went to Johor with Gina and Yan Mae :)

We met really early like 9am in the morning?

Took CW bus at Kranji Mrt and yay, off we go to JB!

Excited... Craving for some cheap delicious food!!!!!!

At the Singapore customs there was this rotten asshole who cut everyone's queue! CB he wanted to cut me and Yan Mae's queue but thankfully I signalled him to go to the back if not he's not going to live till tmr.

Everyone was cursing at him. Haha!

Anyway, our first shopping mall was City Square, which was the nearest to the  custom. Hmm, so we settled down for Sushi King, cos it's cheap and awesome? Haha. But I still like the outlet in Ipoh Jusco, their Ebi is the best!

Yum yum!

Okay, surprisingly that day I didn't eat tuna sushi. Cos EVERY SINGLE TIME I GO TO A SUSHI OUTLET, the first thing I grab will be Tuna. This is a first.... in  the past 18 years :)

Gina deciding what to eat, yum!

After ordering, grabbed a few plates of sushi on our table. Raw Salmon, Ebi Tempura, and Chicken Karaage!

Yumyum, can't wait for our food to come!

Anyway, we ordered this. I first got to eat this through the recommendation of my monkey. He was the one who forced me to eat it the previous time at this Jap restaurant at Vivo and surprisingly it's damn good! There're supposed to be eggs inside the stomach.. Yum.

Part of my set meal! Comes with Ebi Tempura, long beans, seaweed etc. Plus my Yakult and Yan Mae keep saying I'm like a kid.....

The happiest thing is that my set meal comes together with RICE and UDON. And I couldn't finish the rice so I finished the udon instead. I repeat, I still like Ipoh's outlet. This is........... ok only.

Satisfied!!!!! ^_^

Hehe after that went to walk around, hoping that we can find some cheap bargains but turns out that everything is quite overpriced.

Nabeh come to IPOH LA!!!!! Everything is so much cheaper there. Shirts for RM10 there! Sure, City Square has shirts for RM 10 but it's for XS/S size and the designs are like SHIT.

Anyway we went to Jusco at Bukit Indah which we got conned because the taxi driver took the long route.. Zzz, why can't anyone working in the taxi industry in Malaysia be fucking honest?!

There wasn't much to see cos everything was again, pretty much overpriced..

Gina and me! :)

In the end, we ended up at Kinta supermarket and bought some food back! :p
Yan Mae, a-hem, helped us got some stuffs back. HAHAHA.

Oh well, took another taxi again and cb, this time it's even more fucking expensive! RM 38 for a single trip!!!! Nabeh that was.. night-time robbery I swear.

And we got stuck at both Malaysia and Singapore customs cos there were too many people boarding the buses and many people were cutting queue...
So we reached Singapore around 12am? :(

But nevertheless, it was a fun trip! Especially with Gina and Yan Mae :)
Hope we'll go out soon!!!!!!

Yesterday met up Jiawen in the afternoon for some catching up to do, and we were hunting for her harry potter spectacles!

She'll be flying off to UK to further her studies in which I'm super proud of her :) But also, really sad to see her leave for 3 years and not being able to see her makes me feel scared :(

I already thought of what to get for her :) Hehe!

Later at night, met up with Jessie, Jeslyn and Thadshayiniy and we hang out at Timbre @ Arts House! Ordered Duck Pizza, Salmon Pizza, Roasted Prawn with Garlic Pizza, BBQ pizza(?), Chicken wings hehe! And some drinks to go with the good food and company.

Song/message dedications can be made and I kept spamming the system with messages like, "I hate my boyfriend - Thadshayiniy Schzeinger" hahah it was damn fucking hilarious!! Because the singer would read the message out loud. Hmm had a good laugh though :-) hehe.
Sweethearts :)

Love this photo alot! We all look so good here hehe ^_^

Well I'm starting to think that the honeymoon period is kinda over..
I really try my best to keep it alive, I really put in more effort into this relationship than any other. I hope at the end of the day, you'd appreciate everything. I love you so much~

And one last thing, he changed his cover photo to both me and him. I smiled to myself for an entire minute..... haha. :)

Love you, even though you're an ass sometimes. Hehe
