Foodhunt at JB!

Saturday, May 04, 2013

I don't think I've mentioned this before, but I love the month of April :)

Everything seem prettier and I feel happier though! Hahaha.

I know it's been such a long time since I last blogged about my Bangkok trip, about 1 month ago? Woops.
Been super busy with work, family, boyfriend, Milo and people around me recently.. And of course, running my fitspo instagram account :P

Though I do have some time for myself but I'd be too tired to blog.. So today's a good day!
It's just the beginning of May and I'm hoping this month will turn out to be a good one :)

April was really fantastic for me, since I just came back from Bangkok and I actually went out with my friends more often. Met up with people whom I wanted to meet up with, and went to the gym and ate (partially) clean as usual..

Wanna blog about my day outing to JB with my boyfriend.
I planned it quite awhile ago 'cos he barely has time with me (especially the entire day) so I made sure it was well-spent.

Researched a bit and decided to go for a food hunt (Most recommendations are from johorkaki.blogspot.com) and also to do some shopping in malls we haven't been to yet. And not forgetting the night market (aka Pasar Malam) in JB!

Err camwhored once? Hahahah

So the first stop we wanted to go was Teck Sing's famous paper herbal chicken.
I LOVE LOVE herbal chicken 'cos I just love anything that's herbal. Hahahha.

Sadly, it was closed till May so we had to visit the shop beside it. (Bamboo Cafe?)

Dear and I ordered sambal kangkong, Herbal Chicken (OF COS), and a egg tofu hotplate!

Sambal Kangkong

Paper herbal chicken :) YUMMY!

Egg Tofu Hotplate

Everything (including 2 bowls of rice, 2 drinks) costed us about RM40+?

The food was okay, the herbal chicken was quite delicious but not what I was expecting... I'm still finding the one that can beat my Mum's herbal chicken. No joke.. Hers is seriously the BEST. (currently)

Next up, we went to The Store to shop around for a little while... But it was really boring -_-
Regretted going that stupid mall. Everything is so old and NOT in trend at all. The salespeople were just talking among themselves cos there's nobody at all. HAHAHA.

So bored that we went to KSL Mall instead! (Haven't been there before)
Dear has been telling me that the mall sucks balls but I'm like "really meh? why all my friends say like not bad leh?"

So he wanted to prove me wrong and when we went to the mall, he was like "WOAH.."
Hahaha he explained that he went here when KSL mall had just opened so most stores were not opened yet. And there weren't much people. But now he really likes KSL Mall now!

The basement had so many food!!!!!
I wanted to try out the Japan restaurant beside Seoul Garden.. but didn't had the chance to.

We tried their Yami yogurt (tasted the same as SG) and their durian crispy puff! (Dear did, and he said it was good!!)

Well we were really excited! Cos we loved that mall :)
There's even an organic shop there "Nature Health Farm" which I signed up for lifetime membership.
Bought Flax Seeds, Rolled Rye Oats, calcium supplements, olive oil there too. Yes trying to eat as clean as possible but it doesn't come cheap of course..

The stuffs there are so much cheaper than Singapore's. Especially chia seeds etc, so the next time I'm going I'll be stocking up on my chia seeds, mixed nuts and flax seeds for my breakfast!

We walked around the mall and it was quite a big one!
But decided to go grab a bite cos we were abit hungry. Oh yes, the Night Market Pasar Malam is just right outside KSL mall!

Take the exit at the taxi stand area and you'll get to see a long stretch of stalls to Hotel Paragon.

We walked the Pasar Malam and mostly they were selling fresh produce and food :)

Unfortunately it was drizzling that day :(

I saw this Malay lady making some peanut pancakes and I had the urge to have one.. So Dear bought for me! ^^

AND OMG. This is DAMN DAMN SHIOK. A must try please!

We walked along the Pasar Malam and they were selling all sorts of stuffs like fake watches, bed sheets, pet fishes, and the food were like sushi, mixed rice/noodles, salted chicken, penang laksa, carrot cake and so much more!

I bought my lou she fun (dry) and omg it taste about the same as Ipoh's. Miss it too much :(

After that, Dear and I were abit sian cos the Pasar Malam was getting a little more crowded and humid. So we went back to KSL Mall to continue shopping and we found this branded outlet store having massive sales!!!!!!!!!

Dear was the one going crazy..

He picked up a few formal shirts and we got ourselves couple Ralph Lauren polo shirts? It's super nice!
I was abit hesitant about the Billabong & Roxy dresses/tops cos they didn't have much choices :(

We shopped there for about close to 2 hours? All the food restaurants/cafes were mostly closed so we had to go out and eat dinner instead :(

From JohorKaki's blog, one of the most raved about food place was Cedar Point Food Centre located just at the foot of Hotel Paragon. It's a little tricky to find it cos it's actually located on top of a small hill.

There were even people cabbing down at that hour just to have supper there!

We tried out the famous Hong Kee BBQ chicken wings, Sin Kee's sambal kang kong and Sole fish. Wanted to try out their BBQ stingray but Dear loved Sole fish so we decided to try out that instead.

BBQ Chicken Wings

Sambal Kangkong

Honestly this meal is so much more satisfying than our lunch..
We loved the kangkong, and the sole fish!!!!!!!

Next up, we're so going to try the Japan restaurant at KSL Mall yo!!!!!!

Gonna blog about my trips on the next blog post!
xoxo

No lies, just love

Wednesday, June 27, 2012

This afternoon I've been a little a moody and sad 'cos I've kinda had some trust issues with him. I always thought that I could trust somebody wholeheartedly but I can't.

After discovering the chats he's had with some girls, I guess? Nevertheless I have chosen to continue "trusting" him. Yes I'm upset, but I don't want this to end. I'm afraid it's just me being too sensitive and blame him for something he didn't have the intention to do, or is it just the way he communicates with people.

But whatever it is.. I just love him a lot.

Anyway on Monday, there was no Apel lesson so I decided to accompany him on an interview in JB. There's a whole new land development going on at Puteri Harbour, and the investor that we met that day said that by a few years time, there will be a ferry fetching Singaporeans from Harbourfront and Sentosa to Puteri Harbour soon!

And the area looked beautiful. Nothing like the traffic in typical JB areas you see. They had a row of houses (seriously looked like Australia) and they have service staffs greeting you at the reception counter, they have a western cafe and Angsana Spa! Wtf this is more like a resort than a house.

So yeah.. Dear and I were like wow! And many Singaporeans actually lived in that area, while working in SG at the same time.

Anyway, after the meeting, dear and I went to Bukit Indah Jusco, (the one Gina and Ym and I went that time) and we went to eat dinner at Johnny's Restaurant. It is absolutely one of the best Thai restaurant I've been to, and my boyfriend, who's a head chef with 10 years of experience agreed with me.

They have no MSG, preservative so it's totally healthy! And it's halal too :)
There's an outlet in Ipoh Jusco, and I've been eating at Johnny's since I was 8 years old? My aunt would always drive us to Jusco for some healthy delicious steamboat :')

So I've been asking my boyfriend to bring me to this restaurant for quite sometime cos I haven't been back in Ipoh for almost 2 years?

Finally that day we got the chance to go :') He didn't forget that he made the promise to go with me.. and I'm really proud of him for making to effort to remember. And it was his treat! Hehe!

Ordered this Thai Steamboat set, it's mad cheap! About $12 for two people? includes prawns, veggies, bee hoon, sotong, tofu, eggs, fish glue, enoki mushrooms and so on and so forth.

Nobody! My boyfriend's favourite ^^

I really liked the ambience and service there. Never fails to disappoint me everytime. The staffs are fast and efficient, and the ambience is warm and cosy! Best for steamboat ^^

Here it is! Our healthy steamboat. Dear scooping the coconut out from his drink.

Seeking comfort and happiness in food

When he first tried the Thai chicken rice, he went, "OMG" and licked his fingers. It was one of the best chicken rice he's ever had :) hahaha. I remembered how my brother and I used to fight over this plate of chicken rice whenever we were in Ipoh. It's SUPER good!

Our awesomely healthy steamboat!

And the best Thai Chicken rice! RM 5.95

Can't wait to indulge in the steamboat!

Anyway, I'm loving my new rose blouse! I bought it with Xinyi and it's so pretty!!!! Hehe ^^
Bought it at a bargain cos I'm just good at bartering HAHAHA. Whee!

Us being really happy and enjoying our steamboat.
We ordered side orders: A super duper awesome plate of 5 beef slices (RM 4.50), Jelly fish (RM 3.50), 2 plates of Shrimp Ravioli (RM4.90 each), Deep Sea Fish Balls (Rm 5.90)!

We were so full we could hardly breathe :S

Yes, super full!!!!

And a satisfied boy :)

Everything totaled up to RM76.30, including service charge and gvt tax. We really enjoyed the meal!!! :)

After that, we went to buy durian puffs for my parents and his mummy!

Went to my house and stayed over :)

My parents loved the durian puffs so much that they ate finish within an hour?! I only got to eat 1 :(

Oh well..........
I love happy times like this.

Good food and company to kickstart April!

First of April: April Fools Day: News circulated around the web that TP was going to enforce a dress code for students, scaring the wits out of every TP student. Even the news got stomped twice!

Turns out that it's just a April Fools prank..... :-)
I wasn't even aware of it until TP was trending on Twitter? Haha.

Oh well, I couldn't care less if we're going to wear uniform anyway. In fact, I wouldn't mind! Since going to polytechnic means you gotta spend so much money on buying clothes and getting headaches in the morning deciding what to wear each day.

Anyway started off the first day of April pretty well!
Went to Johor with Gina and Yan Mae :)

We met really early like 9am in the morning?

Took CW bus at Kranji Mrt and yay, off we go to JB!

Excited... Craving for some cheap delicious food!!!!!!

At the Singapore customs there was this rotten asshole who cut everyone's queue! CB he wanted to cut me and Yan Mae's queue but thankfully I signalled him to go to the back if not he's not going to live till tmr.

Everyone was cursing at him. Haha!

Anyway, our first shopping mall was City Square, which was the nearest to the  custom. Hmm, so we settled down for Sushi King, cos it's cheap and awesome? Haha. But I still like the outlet in Ipoh Jusco, their Ebi is the best!

Yum yum!

Okay, surprisingly that day I didn't eat tuna sushi. Cos EVERY SINGLE TIME I GO TO A SUSHI OUTLET, the first thing I grab will be Tuna. This is a first.... in  the past 18 years :)

Gina deciding what to eat, yum!

After ordering, grabbed a few plates of sushi on our table. Raw Salmon, Ebi Tempura, and Chicken Karaage!

Yumyum, can't wait for our food to come!

Anyway, we ordered this. I first got to eat this through the recommendation of my monkey. He was the one who forced me to eat it the previous time at this Jap restaurant at Vivo and surprisingly it's damn good! There're supposed to be eggs inside the stomach.. Yum.

Part of my set meal! Comes with Ebi Tempura, long beans, seaweed etc. Plus my Yakult and Yan Mae keep saying I'm like a kid.....

The happiest thing is that my set meal comes together with RICE and UDON. And I couldn't finish the rice so I finished the udon instead. I repeat, I still like Ipoh's outlet. This is........... ok only.

Satisfied!!!!! ^_^

Hehe after that went to walk around, hoping that we can find some cheap bargains but turns out that everything is quite overpriced.

Nabeh come to IPOH LA!!!!! Everything is so much cheaper there. Shirts for RM10 there! Sure, City Square has shirts for RM 10 but it's for XS/S size and the designs are like SHIT.

Anyway we went to Jusco at Bukit Indah which we got conned because the taxi driver took the long route.. Zzz, why can't anyone working in the taxi industry in Malaysia be fucking honest?!

There wasn't much to see cos everything was again, pretty much overpriced..

Gina and me! :)

In the end, we ended up at Kinta supermarket and bought some food back! :p
Yan Mae, a-hem, helped us got some stuffs back. HAHAHA.

Oh well, took another taxi again and cb, this time it's even more fucking expensive! RM 38 for a single trip!!!! Nabeh that was.. night-time robbery I swear.

And we got stuck at both Malaysia and Singapore customs cos there were too many people boarding the buses and many people were cutting queue...
So we reached Singapore around 12am? :(

But nevertheless, it was a fun trip! Especially with Gina and Yan Mae :)
Hope we'll go out soon!!!!!!

Yesterday met up Jiawen in the afternoon for some catching up to do, and we were hunting for her harry potter spectacles!

She'll be flying off to UK to further her studies in which I'm super proud of her :) But also, really sad to see her leave for 3 years and not being able to see her makes me feel scared :(

I already thought of what to get for her :) Hehe!

Later at night, met up with Jessie, Jeslyn and Thadshayiniy and we hang out at Timbre @ Arts House! Ordered Duck Pizza, Salmon Pizza, Roasted Prawn with Garlic Pizza, BBQ pizza(?), Chicken wings hehe! And some drinks to go with the good food and company.

Song/message dedications can be made and I kept spamming the system with messages like, "I hate my boyfriend - Thadshayiniy Schzeinger" hahah it was damn fucking hilarious!! Because the singer would read the message out loud. Hmm had a good laugh though :-) hehe.
Sweethearts :)

Love this photo alot! We all look so good here hehe ^_^

Well I'm starting to think that the honeymoon period is kinda over..
I really try my best to keep it alive, I really put in more effort into this relationship than any other. I hope at the end of the day, you'd appreciate everything. I love you so much~

And one last thing, he changed his cover photo to both me and him. I smiled to myself for an entire minute..... haha. :)

Love you, even though you're an ass sometimes. Hehe

Hmm currently our relationship is going good..
We have gone through some really nasty shit in our relationship (Yeah, it's not even 6 months and we already gone through many DOWNS) and we nearly barely survived it, but in the end, I'm glad we made it through.

And of course, some times I get really insensitive and upset about him because of his character (INSENSITIVITY AND UNROMANTIC) but I realise he's been trying hard to change and accommodate me. I really appreciate it alot :)

Nowadays, he holds my hands when I try to cross the barrier at our usual hangout - Seletar Dam. Hmm.... Wonder what's gotten into him.

Sometimes, people tend to shoot me a simple question like, "Why'd you like him?" or "Why him?" It's really difficult for myself to answer questions like that because I don't know myself either. Sometimes feelings just come by and yeah, we really don't choose who we fall in love with. I can't help it, and stop myself from feeling this way yeah?

So yup......
:)

Anyway he got back his car!!!! Am super happy for him, because our quarrels in the past was because of his damn car, and we couldn't meet up because of bad weather as travelling back home would be an issue.

Yeah, fixed everything but I know he's having a major financial crisis now..... haha joking. Just that he has to pay off some debts, especially his car repairs which cost more than 10k :/

He's proud of his new gadgets!

Yah his current obsession.. but his all-time favourite is his baby girl sitting next to him in the car MUHAHAHA

Anyway, just came back from supper with him..!
We wanted to go back to our favourite wan ton mee noodle stall but we ended up trying something new ^_^

POWERRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!

I swear only M'sia got the best dry Mi Ta Mak in the whole world. Especially Ipoh's. Walao wei..... They should just move to Singapore.

Am loving the plate of fried food at the side! Especially the ham with fried enoki mushrooms yum yum!

I wanted to try his noodle look so nice lor............ but my mi ta mak took my attention away, hehe.

Hungry pig

 ;)

Am so hungry (again) looking at the photo.....

Still, he said we'd better go back to our favourite wan ton mee stall next time.
Oh yeah, we also encountered some unpleasant experience at the customs and the petrol station just now ):

Haiz, lucky I was there lor.. (True ok)

Anyway had a great time with Thadsha YY Kelisha Xueli Meryl and friends at Helipad! Hell of a night baby... Free flow drinks etc but ended up there were many merlions outside at 1am? -_-" hahah!

I was told I was laughing like a mad woman outside but..... Don't make me recall anything please.

Fave pic from that night!
